We discussed email signatures as a type of written communication (and a marketing tool) in the Business Communications workshop on Friday, so when I saw this article in my Google Reader this weekend I thought I should share it.

I recall that my tips from class yesterday were no fuschia-coloured text and absolutely no images of kittens. I’m also not a fan of sending images in your email signature because they just show up as time-wasting attachments for some people.
I use my Gmail account to manage several different email addresses and my email signature changes depending on which email I am sending from. Personally, I still think my business signature needs some work – I’m not entirely happy with it (I think it is too long, I agree with the article- simple is better).
